Joanna McCarthy

My name is Joanna McCarthy and I am a third year BA student in the Crawford College of
Art and Design. I am studying Fine Art and I specialize in drawing and painting. By using
various different mediums my self-confessional art is a way to clarify my relationship with
the world. Each one of my works are like fragments of my diary. My interest in existential
philosophy is the drive behind my practice along with universal experiences of love and how
important it is in the search for the meaning of life.

My name is Joanne Hackett, an artist from Galway, my paintings are often filled with vibrant colours and bold patterns. They are developed from a variety of sources
such as dreams, myth, psychology, alchemy and my own experiences. I aim to achieve a sense of balance and joy within them, and think of them as being
symbols of energy and of life itself.
